Welcome to the Addiction Educational Course

Core Study

Dopamine, The Dark Side of Addiction.

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter, a hormone-like chemical produced in the brain. It transmits communications and messages through connections in neural fibers that are in the nervous system.

Dopamine is also called the happiness and pleasure hormone because a high level of it causes us a sense of happiness, confidence, and self-esteem. That is the filling we all strive for.

But dopamine also has a dark side in its connection to addictions.
